NIKE LUNAR HYPERDUNK+ BENJI WILSON TRIBUTE

Benji Wilson was a high basketball star from Chicago who led Simeon Vocational High School to the State Championship in 1984. Unfortunately, at age 17, he and the mother of his child were walking to school one day when he was gunned down - the day before the start of his senior year in high school. His family, friends and former teammates Nick Anderson and Tim Hardaway continue to keep his memory alive. The fact that Benji was #25 in high school is the reason why Nick Anderson would only wear that number during his professional career in the NBA. Derrick Rose also wore the number during his basketball career at Simeon Vocational High School in honor on Benji. As a tribute to Wilson's life and athletic accomplishments, iLoveDust created set that includes an engraved wooden box,a booklet and dog tags to go with a pair of Nike Lunar Hyperdunk+. The Nike Lunar Hyperdunk+ holds Wilson's high school colors of Game Royal and University Gold and also also has "Benji" inscribed above the heel. Take a look at the detailed pictures and a short documentary of Benji Wilson's life below.

  1. I think Tim Hardaway attended Carver High School and lost to Simeon HS in the semi-finals for the Chicago Public League title in early '84.
